Fitbit sync and exercise question

My question is if your fitbit is synced of course it picks up your steps but do you also add your gym workout to your exercise points or does the fitbit add that? To me it looks like the fitbit only counts my steps.

It all goes through fitbit. I noticed if you also add it via MFP'ers it will effectively double add.1

My fit it must not be syncing right. Says I've only burned 501 calories but my fitbit app says 1496. Very strange0

I noticed that on mine. I read something about a calorie deficit or something. I had to change the settings x0

The Fitbit app includes calories you burn just by being alive (breathing etc). The mfp calories already include this so it shows as the extra calories only.
Make sure to select the correct time when you enter exercise onto mfp. For example, if you do an aerobics class at 10am you might step 1000 steps but burn 400 cals. If you input the aerobics class to mfp and choose 10am start time with a one hour session it will deduct the calories burnt from the 1000 steps you walked during the class to prevent double counting. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for this to show up but it will show by the end of the day.1 -
