A matter of life or death.

Hi folks I have played with dieting for years never being fully committed rather just thinking it would be nice to be thinner like my younger days. Then came Type II Diabetes and even that never made me get serious. Treating my diabetes with pills progressed onto insulin and needles.
Now I have a condition called "NASH", fatty liver. This has resulted in me having cirrhosis of the liver, just like you get with alcohol but mine is with too much fat in my liver for too long. The alcoholic would have to quit drinking or die of liver failure and I have to loose some considerable weight or face the same fate.
So I like life and what God has given me so I have decided to smarten up and do the work to stay alive. That's my story, so I will say a prayer for you folks and if you believe in prayer say one for me too.
Thanks Tony F.

Please, please take care of yourself.. I watched my aunt pass away from liver failure far too young when it could have been prevented if she'd just found MFP soon enough. You can do this!! I'll add my prayers to yours that you stick with it and live a long and healthy life.0

My best wishes for health and strength for you.
I got referred to a program supported by our Provinces public health care program, went to classes and received expert help. I stayed in the program for three years, took all the classes, and had bariatric surgery. I lost over eighty pounds and I am much more active today. My diabetes and other health conditions are in remission.
Lose your first thirty pounds and you will feel so much better.
I also took this program and I hope it is available to you too.

My husband had the self same illness plus many more and he doesn't drink. His fiebetus is controlled by medication and diet, but duebetis drugs can cause the liver problems and the Drs feel that has what has happened, he is not grisly overweight in fact his bmi is 27. Age is not in his side either 74.
You can do this Tony but you really must stick with it day in day out, use your food diary to track all of your foods, you will get therebut it takes time and patience. Good luck1 -
