Sodium

So I have just been looking through my weekly nutrients and only twice in a 3 months period I have met my sodium goals. I believe about 2 grams of sodium a day is what is allocated. Not sure if this in keeping with government guidelines? But anyway I never seem to be over 1-1.2 grams.
I must add I do not add salt to anything ( never have) and I cook from scratch apart from a couple of times which I guess is where I have met the daily allowance of gone just over on it.

Is there anyone else that is massively under on this ?

LOL... you don't actually really need to meet those "goals". They are really more like maximums for the average Western individuals. Most people need to reduce sodium.

Well, I didn't meet them on purpose, I just thought I would look at nutrients. I rarely take 1 gram-sodium per day. 2.4 grams sodium = 6 grams salt. It seems easy to do... if you don't go throwing salt over everything! I guess what I should have put was this is actually quite easy target to reduce for people with health issues. At least I can be happy in knowing my levels are pretty low for intake anyway.... the 2 day where I met the 2.4 I ate crappy processed food.

You don't have to reach the sodium goals unless you need to (i.e. have low blood pressure). As long as you feel fine within yourself then don't worry about adding extra salt!

Did your doctor put you on low sodium? Some health conditions it's really important for, like kidney issues and blood pressure, for other people it's good, but not mandatory. I think it's 2300mg for most people.

I never come close to those "goal" numbers, not eating processed and not adding salt. Sodium occurs naturally in whole food and that is plenty.

The sodium target is the upper limit, not a "you should be getting this much" target.
