Hello,
I am new to MFP and very excited about all the features it has.....I have been struggling for years now with my weight being up and down due to having no thyroid. Any advice is much appreciated

Thanks!

Thanks! Yeah I take Synthroid and will be on it for the rest of my life. So I am pretty much hypothyroid most of the time.....I tried to be good about getting blood work regularly to keep it in check.....

its hard to book yourself in for blood tests, I always forget to go!!!

so what part are you struggling on? keeping to a calorie limit, energy? exercise? x

My biggest problem is my energy and next would be the calorie limit. I exercise pretty regularly when I am not too tired (I try to workout at least 4x a week) I am adding weights now so I am hoping that will help and I am starting a Zumba class 2x a week.

The scale depresses me I only weigh myself once a week and it always seem to go a pound up or remain the same so I get depress and I eat not so healthy choices....so I guess you can say I can be an emotional eater sometimes but I am trying to stop that.

So hopefully with MFP I will start to see results

I know how you feel, I have lost 5 pounds in 6 months haa!!

have you tried spirillna for energy?
boosting your selenium intake? 4 brazil nuts a day is enough for this, it helps with the thyroid health.

Also weights and dance will really help, I started weights a while back and wont look back.

I exercise 7 times a week cardio / weights / dance and its the only thing that keeps me feeling energized and happy. Well MFP will certainly help with the eating habits, just log every day and every thing you eat - it really helps keep you on track!!

Thanks for the tips. I think will try the Spurlina and/or Brazil nuts in my diet. We will see. Thanks again!
