Heart Rate Monitor

I've read a lot of posts by super hot people that say to use a HRM to track calories burned. Since they are obviously successful, (and my guru, Jillian, recommends it) I'd like to look into getting one. I want one that is a decent quality with a reasonable price--single mom on a tight budget. But since Im on a tight budget, I dont want to buy twice..or more.

Can I get some suggestions or links on what brand, features and locations to get a good quality HRM ?

Thanks !

I have just ordered this one. It came highly recommended by a bunch of threads on here as well as some of my MFPals. This site offers free shipping!

I've had that same Polar FT4 for a year and a half and recommend it. I bought it off of Amazon (free shipping because it costs over $25).

I have the Polar Ft7 as it was the best at the time I bought for a promised swim workout reading. I got it at Sears on a huge sale. It was probably $60ish, after the sale and tax. Normally they are a lot more expensive.
  • Thank you all for your recommendations. I just ordered the Polar FT 4 that you suggested.

Hello everyone. I have been a member for a while but finally took the plunge and decided to share. Show me some love and I'll love you back. Happy Saturday!

I agree. My heart rate monitor helps me to stay motivated. I personally use a Timex (watch and chest strap) set up that I purchased from Wal-Mart online. It was reasonably priced.
