If so, does it help?

I'm a big fan of smoothies (especially green smoothies), but I make my own.

Do green smoothies help me get in the recommended daily amount of fruits and vegetables? Yes, absolutely. This is why I started making them, actually.

Do they help me lose weight? Only if they fit into my daily calorie goal.

Does drinking a green smoothie satiate me enough so that I don't end up overeating during the rest of the day? No, not really.

The point being: If you like them, drink them. Just make sure they fit into your daily calorie goal. But if you find that you're hungry an hour after drinking one, then don't rely on them as a meal replacement strategy. At that point, it'd be better for you to eat things that are more satiating, IMO.

I love smoothies, but it got to the point that ones I buy are disappointing. I'd rather have one I made, because I make them just right (for my tastes).

if they fit your daily calorie goal - sure. if not, then no they won't help. there's nothing "magical" about smoothie king or any other foods for that matter. its all about CICO.

Smoothies don't help with weight loss unless a low calorie smoothie keeps you more satisfied than a higher calorie meal. Personally, I need to chew to feel full. I make a smoothie for breakfast every once and awhile to get some extra veggies in, but I usually have to eat lunch a little early on those days as I get hungry. How many calories you consume, from both solid food and beverages, decides whether you lose weight or not.

I get them for a quick meal or post work out...but no, I do not get them for weightloss. Weightloss is about calorie reduction, if you have them instead of a meal on regular basis and they fit into your caloric reduction they may help the same as eating that same amount of calories or drinking that same amount of calories but they don't have ephreda or anything to speed up weight loss. They are expensive though.

Eating at a calorie deficit helps with weight loss. Whether you get there with actual food or with smoothies would be up to you.
