Measuring yourself - frustration! Need help

So I am getting a bit frustrated, I have lost 2 and a half stone and I can feel a difference in my stomach eg fitting into smaller work trousers and tops are baggier however I just don't see it! I take a picture each week in the same mirror sane clothes of my stomach , put them together and since September can't see a difference, my sister says she can but not sure if she's just saying that!
Anyway, I want to start taking measurements and wondered what's the best way and when to do it? Weekly/month?
And also is it true you can't target fat loss, as my stomach is the only thing I don't like now! As well as does fat target when it puts it on? Is there certain things I should stay away from for stomach fat?
Thanks guys

I've always taken body measurements once a month.
No, you can't target fat loss. Just stick to a calorie deficit to lose weight.
You might do more strength training.0 -
I gave up on taking measurements. Couldn't get them to agree. Tried having my wife do it and she couldn't get the same measurement twice. I'm back to just going by weight.
You can't target fat loss. Mine comes off my stomach last and it ticks me off but nothing can be done. I'm losing weight, it will come off, just now how I want it to. I've lost at my neck, arms and legs (I can tell that without measuring) and figure it has to come off my gut soon as that's the only place I have a lot left. If I gain, it will go there first.0 -
I measure monthly. Even then, the numbers don't match the shift in how my clothes fit. Your pants really tell you the best indication, I personally think. I ditto what Tacklewasher said. As for pics, you're just not gonna see it! You have a tainted view of yourself, even in pictures much less the mirror. Know you have a certain body image of yourself, and be gentle on yourself. You always deserve more love, not less! I took pics during my weight loss - I've lost 70 pounds (and am in healthy BMI now) and can barely tell the difference in my pictures. Keep up your positive intention - congrats on your loss so far!!1

I always take my stats like this:
Weight: 1 time per week on Sunday in the morning (after 2 consecutive rest days), after i use the bathroom
Measurements: 1 time per month, on the same day and time as my weight
Photos: 1 time per 6 weeks on the same day and time as my weight
Stay on a calorie deficit and eat in a way that is most enjoyable to you. It isn't rocket science, so don't make it more complicated than it has to be by restricting foods.
best of luck!0
