Weight Loss Plan

So last time I checked I was 151.2 pounds, so I've gained about 2/3 of the freshman fifteen. I'm going to try to change that though. By March 2 (I'm leaving for a family cruise) I hope to weigh 145. Is this a reasonable amount of time to loose that much weight for someone my size? I'm 5'2, 19 years old. I have not gained weight because of alcohol or anything like that. I am going to a community college currently, so I still live at home. I think one of the main reasons I've gained weight is because I can't bike since it's not summer. Does anyone have any recommendations on cutting out sweets, since it is my biggest weakness?

sounds reasonable to me , set MFP up to loose 1 pound a week and eat those calories ,, as far as sweets go, eat them if they fit in your calories ,, and fruit seems to help me if i want something sweet but want to stay away from candy
good luck1 -
I would totally recommend cutting down on sweets, if you are eating a lot of sweets. You can even safely cut them out, if you don't miss them so much that you cave or replace them with other high calorie foods.
5 pounds by March 2 can be a realistic loss for someone your size, provided you have a consistent calorie deficit.1 -
I think you can do that with diet. Put your stats in MFP and eat within your calories allowed for a weight loss.

You might want to throw in some strength training too, it could tighten things up enough that you see more physical changes than the scale suggests.1

I agree with the posters above. Input your stats and see what MFP gives you for calories. I have been at 1200 calories for the month of January and have lost 10 lbs. I am fairly inactive though I am working to change that. I am certainly not suffering with the food I am eating. I am very motivated so it hasn't been too hard for me to cut out junk food. I still have sweet snacks but go for a lower calorie option like 90 calorie frozen fudge bars, sweet and salty popcorn, a square or 3 of chocolate, pudding etc.... so long as it is in moderation and fits my calories. You don't have to exercise to lose weight as it is all about how much you eat though exercise can certainly help in many ways.0
