No rest days? Don't over do it and get an injury by going buckwild in the gym right off If you don't normally exercise. Exercise is great for heath. If you want to lose weight you need to focus on what happens in the kitchen.

Hi, it shouldnt be a race, its a life style, set your goals with logic and make program for your goals , its easy :)
consider your workout options first, than create your style that you can sustain.

Going from what kind of lifestyle?

The way you say it - this could end up badly if you don't keep it realistic.

If walking - knock yourself out (but even there, some have injured themselves going nuts).

    Just so you know.

Workouts done right tear the body down.

Its the rest for repair and recovery that actually let it build back up, stronger if diet allows.

So the way you don't need recovery is doing mediocre workouts - like easy walking. Which isn't going to transform the body much. If that's all you can do - fine. If you could do more - then kind of wasting your time and effort.

Do some lifting with walking between days, 3 x weekly resistance training, 4 days walking.

As others have said, you need rest. You can alternate the parts of your body that you work out.

Agree with everyone else. Walking everyday is good lifting or intense exercise everyday isn't. You'll overwork yourself and you'll just end up tired and probably not gain muscle. Dot be afraid to rest just push yourself hard on your own days then let everything kind of rebuild. Also agree it's in the kitchen. You need carbs for fuel and a good amount of protein. Until I got that on track my results stalled no matter how much work I put in at the gym

Please listen to the above posts. If you are just walking then that's great, but explain what your plan is so we can better help/support.

why? Is this some sort of a challenge? Start with something you can maintain - something sustainable. I don't want to discourage you if you are excited about it but - think LONG TERM. I suppose if you plan to take a walk each day - that would be realistic. well, good luck!

Good for you! According to the science journalist who wrote "The Happiness Project," people come in two types where this sort of thing comes in. Abstainers and Moderators. The people who do well with moderation, are the people who can eat one bite of chocolate. They save a few calories for a small desert each evening, they exercise on alternate days, etc. We Abstainers are better off taking sweets completely off the table and trying to never think about them again. We also function best when they make something a daily habit, because even one day off can weaken the habit and lead to another day off and another day off...

Rest is fine, but think of the farmers who have to feed the animals every day or the women in villages who have to fetch water from the river every day. I don't think they have a big problem with pulled muscles. That usually comes from over doing, over stretching a cold muscle, too many reps too soon, etc. So long as you start gently and increase slowly you can work out every day and get that good new habit down solid.

Don't beat yourself up if you miss a day here or there. Losing weight AND keeping it off requires changes we can live with for years to come. You don't have to be extreme, but instead work on being consistent.

Exercise isn't necessary for weight loss, but it will be great for your health.

This is a lifestyle change.... Dont beat yourself up to much. You need rest.. Most important fueling your body properly....
