Protein Shakes

I have been a [huge] fan of protein shakes (whey and Advantedge), but lately they almost make me want to vomit thinking about them.

Like right now, I need to get quick protein after a workout before I get ready and run out the door. So naturally I would reach for a shake (for convenience and the most bang for your buck), but I'm feeling like "yuuucckkkk".

And I know I could add all kinds of "flavoring" with peanut butter, fruit, etc, but I'm trying to keep the carb count down.

*rock and hard place*

Maybe ya need a wee break from the shakes and focus more on high protein foods like fish and eggs and chicken!! Plan ahead and cook enough for a few meals at a time and then always leave yourself time in your schedule to EAT!!!!

Treat you body like a Temple cause it's the only one ya gonna get!!! Good Luck!!

I make a homemade protein shake/breakfast shake that is super tasty...calorie dense, but it is packed with nutrients and protein.

    1/2 banana
1/2 cup fat free vanilla Greek yogurt
    2 Tbsp ovaltine
1 1/2 tbsp chunky natural peanut butter
1/2 cup 1% or skim milk (you can use almond, rice, soy or coconut milk)
    2-3 ice cubes

    Blend 'er up!

Keep some hard boiled eggs around, cheese, nuts, cooked meats.

use citrus fruit juices and grated rind to flavor your sakes a bit

freeze the fruit ahead of time, the frozen fruit becomes your "ice". This way it has more of a milkshake flavor and consistency. If you use ice to thicken it up, it's more of a daiquiri thing.

I get that way about eggs. I love them, will eat them every day, and then, BAM! I can't eat them.

I just switch to something else for a little while, until I am ready for eggs again.

    It's weird because I know I like them... :/
