Will banking away my extra calories for a possible splurge on SB Sunday work?

I've been making great weakly progress just by following mfp's calorie limits. Sunday is the Super Bowl so it gives everyone a good excuse to pig out.
Now my question is can I only eat the minimum amount of calories up until Sunday, splurge on my extra calories for Sunday? Will that effect my progress, body, metabolism?
Ideally I've been trying to get a 2100 calorie deficit for every 7 days.

It doesn't really matter. Your body doesn't know what day it is. If you eat very little for a week and then pig out on the weekend, you might feel kind of sick, but if your total calories are the same as if you hit your target every day, the impact on your weight loss will be the same.2

Thanks! appreciate the answer. Yeah I noticed that my body is getting use to smaller portions and I'm getting full faster. So if I do pig out I will probably feel sick

It might be helpful for you to track your calories on a weekly basis when you know a special occasion like the Super Bowl is coming up. I did that in the week leading up to Christmas and it really helped.

Yes! It works. It will not hamper your progress. Have a kick *kitten* workout on Monday and enjoy.1
