You Are Your Own Gym Vs The New Rules of Lifting for Women

Hello, I've heard these two books mentioned in some topics and wanted peoples opinions as for which book to get, or which is more helpful/doable. I enjoy having dvds as I don't have to look at a paper and think "what's next here". I am unable/unwilling to go to a gym with 2 kids that's just NOT gonna happen. So My options are to do it myself here at home. I have weights and would be willing to purchase free weights, but a bar bell/home gym is out of the question. So far I've had some success doing the Ripped in 30 DVD, but as per some advice to get the results I want to see I need to lift weights. Please help:)
