Massage Therapy class, tips for learning anatomy and physiology?

I love learning relaxing massages, aromatherapy, spa techniques, energetic therapies, etc. But I'm not good at sports massage or myofascial release because of the terminology. I struggle with anatomy and physiology which is obviously an extremely important part of massage. Does anyone have any tips?

The best tip that I can give you from all my experience is to really study hard. The human body is very complex in regards to the muscular and skeletal systems. Once you understand the intricacies you will can let your hands do the rest of the work. I've been a non-LMT for about 20 years now and have a lot of experience with sports massages including myofacial releases (my favorite by the way). You really need to understand your client so it's important to be willing to listen and tailor it your skills to their needs.

Good luck. Just remember in the end it's all about making your client happy!

I'm going to remember this for my maybe-visit to Colorado

I did A&P in a 6 week course. Not my brightest idea.

But form a study group. Memorize, memorize, and memorize. Quiz each other a lot. Memorize some more. And be ready to forget 75% of it within a few weeks after class.

You're learning style might have something to do with it. I'm a kinesthetic/visual learner for sure. Are you having problems learning the bones? Muscles?Attachments?
Are you artistic? There is a really cool coloring book which might help you. I have not been in school for so long that I forgot the name of it but look online for an anatomy coloring book. That will definitely help you if you are visual.
I know in massage school they pretty much teach you the basics of anatomy. Maybe you can partner up with somebody at school?
