Second time round

Not completely new but newly returned. MFP helped me lose around 8 kilos three years ago, then I got a job, stopped having time to think about diet or exercise and it all piled back on again with a few more thrown in. Then a month ago I quit smoking and the weight has just piled on.
I've never been this heavy in my entire life, I hate what I see in the mirror so much I don't want to even leave the house.
I need to lose around 15 kilos.
What is depressing me even more is I bought a treadmill and have started walking on it every single day. Yet I'm just getting heavier.
Also I found a couch to 5km training plan to start jogging but am so unfit I can't even manage what it says to do for the first week!

Welcome to your '2nd time around'. I have just returned as well. I am around 7-9 pounds over my ideal and being muddle-aged and having disabilities, I struggle to lose it. It took me around a year last time just to lose 5 lbs, but it did stay off for quite a while even after ditching MFP. I felt I wasn't getting anywhere so deleted my account. However despite the hassle of logging food I couldn't find, I did realise MFP did encourage me to keep going; so I am back, currently with a flabby tum again. Even if I end up in the same situation as before, I will be trying.
I hope you too will reach your goal this time around.0
