    1. We adopted a baby from an orphanage in Russia many years ago. We spent cold, anxious weeks in Moscow and Krasnodar. Doctors told us the baby would be disabled and retarded, but the baby grew up to be an all-star high school athlete and to score remarkably high in his military entrance examinations.

    2. My dad’s family once owned a commercial greenhouse, and I worked there as a young child digging up and replanting flowers for customers.

    3. I’m really laid back and can get along with just about anybody; this helps in my job which is sometimes intense.
