Sugar levels in food.

I'm 42 years old and I've been doing this for about 8 weeks now. I'm working out 4 to 5 days a week and have lost 13 pounds. My question is what is the deal with the sugar goal in my food. It only wants me to eat like 45g of sugar per day. I think in the whole time I've been doing this, I've been under my sugar twice. If I eat a Greek yogurt and a couple of pieces of fruit, I'm already at my max. I'm not eating sugary sweets, so how does this affect me? And why is it so low?

I personally don't agree with their recommendations because, like you said, eating 2 servings of fruit pretty much puts you over. If you limit yourself to say, 25g of added sugar or refined carbs, you will be very healthy. Fruit doesn't count, imo.0

I'm so glad you asked this question. I've been trying to figure this out too and I've been at a loss. I read on a site that it should be no more than 8% of your diet.
I also read that for a woman it should be 90 grams daily and for men, 120 grams daily.
I'm finding it hard to balance all of the numbers!!!0
