Cute coat success

I used to despise shopping for winter coats for several reasons. First, I hated having to buy a 2X so that my thick sweaters would fit under it. And, I was wearing thick sweaters to cover up my fat. Second, they all made me look like I was wearing...well, a 2X. I looked huge, fat and completely unfashionable.

This year I was able to buy a medium. And look cute. I've been struggling for the last few months (at least) and can't even tell you I'm 100% back on track as of today, but I'm getting there.

I found the picture of me in that dreaded purple size 2X jacket over the weekend and almost cried. At the time, I'm pretty sure I even convinced myself I looked okay in it. So...as I beat myself up over not doing well lately, I have to remind myself 50 pounds ago, I'd have killed to have that adorable red coat in a size medium hanging in my closet.

I guess the point is, just keep going and keep giving yourself credit and reminders about why your're doing it. This is SO freaking hard some days I want to cry, but others, I can look at this picture and be proud.

Your coat looks great!! I hate coat shopping for the same reason you used to, and look forward to shrinking out of plus size outerwear.

Thank you both! You'll get there in no time, and if nothing else, what a fun way to motivate yourself for next winter!!! And there ARE flattering coats out there for plus size ladies, I was just having so many layers underneath I looked puffy. Here's to warmer weather and NO coats. : )

Love it! I actually have a goal coat. I bought it as a teenager..like 25 yr ago. It was just a bit snug at the time. Rather than ever fitting into it...i just kept gaining. But I've never gotten rid of it because I loved it so much as a teenager..it's like this victory if it ever fits. Its terribly out of fashion now..but if it ever fits I'll be dancing in it lol.

That is great, the jacket is really cute! I also hate hate jacket shopping so much. The only good thing about it is singing "Fat girl in a little coat" to make my husband laugh.
