For me it was when my husband surprised me with a Nissan Armada

But seriously, swimming with sharks as a gift was awesome.

The year I got my first Ipad. They were still very new, and with three young kids we just didn't have the money. On Christmas morning, I found a gift from "Santa" under my tree. When I opened it up, there was the Ipad! It wasn't long before my two sisters were calling me. It seems our parents had snuck into all of our houses and put Ipads under all of our trees. It was such a wonderful gesture!

One time, I had run out of Diet Coke. There was none left and it made me very, very sad. Suddenly, I found one wedged between my mattress and the wall. It was the best gift I had ever given myself by accident.

For my 21st birthday, I wanted to go to NYC but we couldn't afford it, so we were going to go to Vegas instead (apparently it's cheaper). My mom surprised me by winning tickets from the radio to the VMA's in Brooklyn that were happening just a couple weeks after my birthday. It was an awesome experience and it meant a lot that she found a way to make it happen :)

    That didn't freak you out?

Well it was still in the box so it wasn't like the doll was staring at me or anything. I wanted one so bad!

My husband, when we were dating, bought me a screensaver for my computer. It was of this kitten, Newton, that had been videoed for hundreds of hours. He ran all over the screen, played, ate, purred, was generally a cute ball of orange fluff. I wasn't able to have my cat in my apartment at the time, and having Newton was the next best thing.

It was just a cheap gift, but I still love it. Just mentioning the name Newton puts a smile on my face ever after all these years.

After 3 years of a very tumultuous divorce process in which she blamed me for, my now 17 year old daughter made this book for me for my birthday a few years ago. ( I didn't open it when I took the pic because it makes me bawl every time). Don't know that it tops @melmelw03 but it's up there for me.
That child can make or break me in the blink of an eye.

Not gonna lie....I'm pretty jealous of this one.

A Blink-182 fanny pack for my 12th birthday. I still rock it sometimes when I have a lot of errands to run.

    Ha.... that's actually pretty cool.

My best gift? My dad gave me a 35mm camera when I was a kid, I still have it.

I helped a bride to be and her bridesmaids find the bridesmaid dresses (I did not work in a bridal store, it was Francesca's). I helped them carefully choose, try on, and locate at other near by stores the sizes we did not have. I spent about an hour with them on a busy Saturday. I enjoyed helping them, but I didn't think twice about it, after all, I was doing my job.

A week later, the sweet bride brought me a gift basket with lots of bath stuff, lotion, body splash, candle and the nicest thank you card. She gave me a hug and thanked me for my time. I was floored. The fact that someone would appreciate me for "doing my job" in such a special way, I think changed me, and led me to pay it forward many times.

I wish I could remember her name. I lost the card :(
