Dang, I wish I was a manager at Planet Fitness. I would throw people out of the gym left and right.

Not because they did anything wrong, I would just put on that purple polo shirt and go on a massive power trip.

I'd eat it in the squat rack. Oh wait...they don't have one, do they? What's the point of free pizza if I can't eat it between heavy squats. I dunno.

do you ever do wrist curls in the squat rack just to piss people off ??

    yeah, me neither

The most annoying thing I do is bring a bench between the cable machines (against the wall) to do my heavy hip thrusts. Everyone says they "don't mind" though.

I used to go to Planet Fitness and never understood why a fitness place encouraged the eating of what I would consider "junk food". It's all good I guess! Enjoy! ;)

It's ironic that it's called "Planet Fitness" but they are afraid of having fit people there to work out because of the stereotype. So who's really fit at Planet Fitness?

A lot of people at my pf are very fit, but they follow the rules, so no one has issues.
So if a steroid using bodybuilder follows the rules, you don't think he'll be shuffled out of there? At least on their commercials, that's how they portray meat heads. Yes lots of meat heads are loud and obnoxious, but you're talking 10 out of 100. The other 90 want to just do their workouts.

I'm getting my pizza on tonight. I'd eat it at the gym. They have tv and couches. I don't have tv. Can you drink whiskey at PF as well?

I have always wondered at what point they ask members to leave, once they are fit and ruin the atmosphere for the non-fit members.

All I got out of this is now I am effing hungry for pizza... thin crust with pepperoni and green olive .. if they served that kind there, I would probably sign up.

I consistently go to my local planet fitness. For the price it is unbeatable for what they have. Sure its mostly cardio machines and specific muscle group machines but they have a *kitten* ton of them and can help you build a good base for future lifting.

I see people that are HUGE go to PF. Everyone hates on the gym but you can reach almost any goal you put your mind to there. Besides real deadlifts, squats, and bench press. Obviously i understand that those are some of the best workouts to do but you dont NEED them in order to get fit.

I hate their smith machine but i use it, and at least they have dumbbells up to 75lbs at my gym. Plus the cable machines are nice as well.

They offer pizza on the first monday of every month. I talk to the staff often as my girlfriend works there so they all chat me up. This past monday they bought 9 sheets of pizza. I came in to do my workout at night(always) and they offered me some of the last sheet they had. Im sure a lot of people go there for just the pizza, and i know for a fact people just go there to socialize which is honestly just embarassing themselves.

Overall id give planet fitness a B+ gym. Has enough for people to really train seriously(a few people do body building competitions that go to my gym) and also has a great amount of things for noobies.

OK I am serious about this. My fiance and I love pizza and like someone else asked how many pieces can you take in one day? And how many days a month is it? And most importantly, is it good pizza? I would totally pay the $10 if I could walk in and take 2 slices of pizza 2-4 times per month.

No. Pizza day is only once a month. During 9 to 5 hours when most people are working.

Dang, what's the point if I can't make it!?

Seems a little counter intuitive to have a pizza night at a gym....

It is only once a month...first Monday of the month but it's in the afternoon/evening not morning. The one time I went on pizza night it was like 630 and still plenty of pizza to be had.

Yep, same here. I normally just walk right past it, I have never eaten pizza there. However yesterday I asked one of the staff "why do you do this?!" I just laughed because I was half way kidding. *And yes it was extremely busy! Ugh.

No they wouldn't be kicked out. I've go to two different planet fitness locations never saw anyone kicked out. Lots of people doing heavy weights too. One of the locations I go to has squat racks etc. People of all shapes and sizes no one has ever gotten kicked out.
I did witness one in Pennsylvania back in 2007 when I went to Hershey's Park for Thanksgiving. Not a big bodybuilder by today's standards but a bodybuilder. He didn't grunt but did breathe through the mouth with pursed lips so you did hear the "SHHHH" when he worked out. Didn't slam weights, put them back and for some reason he was approached by someone from the staff. After an exchange (I was on a treadmill) I heard him say "what am I doing that's disturbing?" and he yelled back "what, I'm breathing too loud?" Eventually a supervisor or MOD came out, conversed and next thing I know the guy is being escorted out say "F this place!!!". So I guess "shhhh" too loud when you're exhaling is also disallowed.
Judgement free zone? I would think that people who might put more effort into their workouts or look a certain way (overly muscular) would be judged just stepping foot in the place. Again, their ads portray stereotypes at gyms that they claim won't be at Planet Fitness.

It's a trap, keep you fat, keep you coming back

It's only once a month and you don't have to eat it. They started giving away pizza as an appreciation gesture and it stuck.

I don't get hate on pf honestly. Take it for what it is, a gym for beginners and people that may not feel comfortable at a regular gym.

I love it at PF. I gave it crap at first because of all the damn purple everywhere. But I love that it doesn't have the bro's and broistas all over the place like the other gyms in my area. The people that go there seem to be nice and respectful. I don't feel intimidated when I go there either.

I always laughed and said no thanks when they offered me pizza at pf. Not that I don't eat pizza but I just can't eat pizza my gym is giving me. Like I just burned 600 cal but yes please give them back to me. Jerks.

Most gym goers are nice and respectful, even the bros and broistas. Just hate that people keep on spreading misinformation.

My gym used to be private, now a YMCA they now do bagels once a month and they have gotten very "judgy" lately with a lot of the more fit member- even though we are the first ones to help a noob if they are about to injure themselves
