I am a 400+ trucker and would love to have fellow truckers join me here at MFP to help me and help yourself. We could actually communicate and support each, as I have no family or support that is there for me each and everyday, just like this battle to lose weight is, it is an everyday journey, but traveling in groups are always best. Please join me

Not a trucker, but replied to a post for a trucker looking to lose weight a couple days ago. Maybe this can help.

I remembered reading this article in Men's Health a while back. Has some pretty good tips IMO:

This was the post I replied to, some good info: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10512810/over-the-road-trucker-trying-to-diet-and-work-out-on-the-road#latest

Stay safe out there. Best of luck

My lifestyle change is tough, I reverted to bad food yesterday, and again today so far, wtf. WHY WHY WHY AM I SO FREAKING STUPID !!!! I need this change to get healthy or I am gonna blow up and die. I may not be putting a Gun to my head, but the freakin fork is doing the same thing.
I have no real support, well wishers yes, but as hard as I try I seem to fail WTF, I pray for discipline, but he must be busy, I still think through him I can do this, but so far....

Don't be discouraged... I would think that's a fairly small demographic and your thread would have to be right there & visible at the same time a fellow trucker was logged in.

May I make a suggestion? The best way I found to cultivate friends & support was to look around the forums for people with similar stats & goals, that seem to be serious or have been around for a while. If you find you have something in common or some sort of connection, send them an FR with a personal message.

Also, I read your comment above and I think you're making this too hard and being too hard on yourself. You're not stupid! Habits are not easy to change, no matter who you are. But the other thing is, you talked about "bad" food. It's very common for people to think they have to have this perfect, healthy diet to lose weight... and it's very common for people to fail when they think that way. There are no "good" or "bad" foods. Yes, there are foods that supply our body with more nutrition than others, but your biggest health concern right now is your weight, and to lose weight you *only* need to achieve a calorie deficit. Have you filled out your profile and gotten your calorie recommendation? At your size, you will still be able to eat quite a lot of food compared to most and still lose weight. You can eat foods that you like, you just have to make it fit in your calories for the day. So that will likely mean choosing smaller amounts of high-calorie fare and adding more low calorie foods. I can imagine if I was stuck in a car or truck all day, all I would want to do is snack. I'm sure it's a challenge. You'll have to think about what's really important to you, log every single thing you eat (check the stickies at the top of the "general diet" forum for good advice on that), and stick to your calorie allowance like glue! And don't beat yourself up when you have a bad day- we all do- just pick yourself up and get back on track. You can do it!

I only accept female friends, but I will be rooting for you :)

Not a trucker....but I've worked in transportation for many years and know many drivers! You can do this. I have a friend who has dropped about 50 pounds so far. Keep posting and logging. You can do this!!! Also. Don't let a bad day or even a bad week get you down. This is life and it happens! Log it, own it and vow to do better tomorrow. Don't try to change the world in a day. Find a small change you can make and do it. (Like - start off with drinking enough water and maybe cutting down on soda or coffee or whatever your go to drink is. Do that for a couple of weeks. Then add to it. Maybe the next habit to form is moving more. It will take time but you will develop a new lifestyle and the weight will come off. Don't give up!!!

I just joined MFP. My husband is a trucker and I am hoping to get him to join too. I know he snacks a lot while he is driving to help stay awake. I try to give him healthy things to snack on like veggies, nuts & seeds, fruit etc. Some of his buddies take walks on their lunch & breaks so at least they are getting some exercise even though they are sitting most of the day. Logging your food helps you to take a look at what you are eating and at least makes me want to eat better. Just take little steps and be happy for each bit of progress you make no matter how small! YOU CAN DO IT!

Most people work 8-9 hours a day and have commute time so it equals the time you are driving. If you sleep 8 hours you have 5 hours left out of 24.
