I just wanted to know if I have lost muscle and gained body fat.....For about a week now I have been eating wayyyy to much even over 2000 calories when I generally maintain on 1600-1700 and I have not been exercising. I have mostly been partying, eating and working but the scale has gone DOWN!! I feel more sluggish and I am getting back on track asap but does this indicate muscle loss???

I know a cheat day can boost metabolism but this is more like a cheat/binge week....why is the scale going down?? am I losing muscle??

When I take a break from exercise, I usually drop a couple pounds. It's just water and glycogen... fluid retention and fuel storage.

Probably bc a healthy, active 19 yo female usually maintains on much more than 1600 calories. What's your average intake and activity like before this week? You're most likely not losing muscle and it is water loss from not exercising.

body has lost the fluid it was holding due to recovery, plus if you were drinking it lost some extra water that was problably hard to shift. Tou have lost Muscle only in the sense that some of that water was being held in them whilst they recovered.

This happened to me too. I had a terrible 10 day period. Two business trips, 4 business dinners, 6 business lunches, no opportunity for a workout since my days ended up so late and I was exhausted, no control over whatsoever (or at least it felt like it) and at the end of it all, after a few days of a bit more kilograms which was probably water retention, I dropped weight further. I am still terribly sluggish though and I almost died in the gym doing my regular moderate 30 min cardio routine after 10 days of pure nothing in terms of exercise.
