My 25 year struggle

I started to put weight on from the age of 9 years old. At 33 years I got as high as 322lbs (23 stone for fellow Brits).

I've had my ups and my downs. I lost 9 stone (126 pounds) in 2010 following one of those crash diet programmes. It took 7 years of yo-yo dieting afterwards, but finally all 9 stone went back on.

Last year I was in a very dark place and hit a real low. I wanted to end it all. I was fat, lonely, depressed and fed up of fighting a severe addiction to overeating and binges.

But I got help, and have been on a journey of faith too. The depression has now gone - and finally after nearly 2 years in a rut, I'm ready to start again and emerge.

It has been 15 days since my last binge eating episode. I am taking one day at a time. I've lost 10lbs so far.

Please add me as a friend. I don't mean that to sound like I'm begging, it's just that seeing my feed full of people's achievements and activities spurs me on, and I love the engagement and encouragement that goes around - it really helps me.

Congratulations. You can do it, slowly but surely is the way to go.

I like you have lost a chunk of weight and put it back on (Luckily for me not all of it) So this year I am planning on losing the weight, getting to my goal and seeing if I can learn how to maintain. My goal is not to do this for a third time! (Request sent)
