Saving Money and Living Better

Yes, its the dang Wal-Mart slogan. Before anyone jumps off the deep end, I mean it in a literal sense and not in a jingly sense.
Okay so we are on week 2.5?? I guess of eating better. Not great, not good, just better. My husband is officially on board. He requested healthier lunches (more work for me, but I'm willing to work harder if it means he'll live longer).. In any case, I'm super excited because not only am I saving money on food, I'm buying HEALTHIER food. I'm not spending as much time in drive thrus trying to figure out which nasty fast food joint I want to stop at for my next meal. I've only given in to a few cravings, and MOSTLY done it moderately.
I changed my goal in MFP to "maintain" and only added workouts. I'm trying to make small changes here and there to fit my lifestyle better. I hired a trainer (since now that I'm not eating out every five minutes I can afford it-ish) I drink MORE water and LESS coke. I eat wheat bread and pay attention to what I put in my body.
Moreover, the last time I "dieted" I remember LIVING for the next meal I could eat because I HAD to eat it. This time, I eat just like normal. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Sometimes better, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. BUT it FEELS normal. It doesn't feel like a diet. It doesn't FEEL like a lifestyle change. It just kind of feels like I'm shopping better and eating "rich people food"
The first time I weighed myself this year was at the doctor's office on 1/3/17. I now check in every week with the dr, so that I can use the same scale and they can mark my progress in my chart. I started at 230.2 and I'm now at 225.6. Y'ALL!
ALL I DID WAS BASICALLY CUT OUT FAST FOODS AND SHOP BETTER.
I'm still trying to tame my out of control appetite, I'm still struggling to not want 3 cokes a day (I'm down to 1) and I'm STILL fighting the urge to eat pizza every single day.
But I'm learning, and I'm growing, and I'M SHRINKING!!!!
Good Luck everybody! Have a great day!!
