Emotional eating

One of my biggest problems is emotional eating, especially since I gave up alcohol 5 weeks ago. Anyone else have this problem and how do you manage it?

I'll just leave this here for you, it's been my go to mantra since restarting my journey January 2016:
I have had a couple times of out of control emotional eating, but when it happens I just shrug it off and get back to my mission. Taking walks, going shopping, visiting with friends...all good diversions.0 -
You have to find another coping mechanism for handling your emotions. It sounds like you were using alcohol now you are using food.
Try using exercise, journaling, meditation, yoga, confiding in others, etc.0 -
Figure out what is its that's going on in your life that's causing you to turn to substances for comfort. Then work on that. Maybe even some occasional therapy sessions can help you get to the root of it, and find ways to address it and cope. Good luck!0
