Hi I'm new to this. It's been just over a week now and I have drop 5.1kg. I know I still have a long way to go but I'm determined to get there.

    Here's some tips for you:
    Read all the pinned posts on the forums - they're loaded with information

    Do your own thinking and research, don't take what someone tells you for granted. False information continues to make it's rounds - starvation mode, and evil foods, etc.

    Don't give up! Remember weight loss isn't linear so you may seem some stalling or gaining at times, that's normal. Log everything, and be as accurate as you can, up to and including getting a scale to weigh food.

    Eat the calories that you should, not what you think you should. A lot of people assume 1200 is what they should eat no matter what MFP (or another TDEE website) says, but your calorie goal is supposed to be reasonable and sustainable.

    If you get down, come to the forums, even if it's only to read posts. I find the success forum inspiring when I feel down!
