c25k and fitbit question

Question:

I try to get 10k steps in a day with my fitbit.

I have been doing c25k and log that as an exercise since I don't do it everyday, but since it's jogging/walking it also goes towards my steps.

so my question (finally) is should I log my c25k when I do it as a separate exercise or just let it be counted steps on towards my fitbit goal instead??

I have both apps too and I just let my FitBit do the count, so if you FitBit is linked and feeding info to MFP maybe you shouldn't log the exercise from your c25k. I don't do it. Maybe someone else have a different opinion.
  • I had the same question! LOL. I go for a 5km run. But MFP syncs the steps from my Fitbit so I feel like I'm double dipping if I log the run separately. But at the same time, you burn more calories on the run than in the steps. I try not to eat my exercise calories anyway but still I'm Interested to see everyone else's opinions.

Where are you logging it as exercise? If you log it in Fitbit it wont double count. If you log it in MFP well its shouldn't matter if you have them syncing as MFP will still refer to Fitbit for total cals burned.

As a rule of thumb use only 1 app for logging 1 type of thing i.e. fitbit for exercise and MFP for food not a bit of each in both.

Just let FitBit account for it.
