The scale has not budged at all since Thanksgiving, it's shark week, and I'm in the throes of a massive midlife/identity crisis,,, and someone brought in a dozen homemade vanilla/chocolate chip cupcakes with thick, fluffy mocha icing.

Go to hell, cupcakes. You do not fit into my eating plan for today, and no matter how discouraged and disillusioned I am right now, you will not fit into my mouth either. The number on the scale hasn't moved in almost 3 months, but I'm not going to let that break me down.

I'm racking my brain trying to figure out why I'm not losing despite sticking to a 1200/day diet and nearly daily exercise, not to mention increased water intake... even with all that, I'm stronger than the temptation.

Hi there. Thanks for your post. I have this problem. I have been losing inches but the numbers on the scale do not seem to change. I believe it is due to increased muscle mass and water retention.

Good on you that you did not cave into temptation. Keep your chin up and try to be positive.
