Changing my mind set...

When I first started this journey in September I wasn't fully on board with the whole 'eating what you want as long as its in calorie goal' and I ate crazy healthy up until Christmas - since Christmas I have began to realize that I can eat unhealthy food like ice cream and McDonald's and still lose weight as long as its within my calories, however because my mind set when I started was to stay away I still have this niggling in the back of my head that I must eat healthy and I will put on eating these types of food?
Anyone else have this or anyone have any stories of bad foods they eat regular buy still lose weight :)
