I just did some zumba and afterwards my left hip hurts pretty bad. Every time I move my left leg, even when walking it hurts right at the hip joint. My right side doesn't hurt ,I just don't want to cause more harm then good.

Typical leg day I do:
weighted squats and deadlifts(:1 set each) 12 reps at 40lb, 10 reps at 50lb, and 8 reps at 60lb.
Hip Abduction: 12 reps at 30lb, 10 at 40lb , and 8 at 50lb
leg press: 12 reps at 130lb, try 10 reps at 150lb ,and try to do 8 reps at 170lb
Also I usually do 30min elliptical or treadmill

Start light and work up to your normal weights. You might notice it feels better after the warm up. If the pain bother you during your work out then just use your best judgement whether to continue or call it off.

Listen to your body. If your in pain then rest. Don't do anything which will prolong your recovery.

the problem with lifting for me is that a lot of the time the actual lifts don't cause immediate pain, so i do them and then pay a terrible price later on.

personally, if even walking hurts then i'd class that as an injury. walking definitely isn't supposed to hurt.
