Valentine's day

I secured a date earlier in the week. It will be our first date but we've been DM'ing on Instagram for the past couple months.
Still trying to figure out the appropriate restaurant to take a gal on a first date on Valentine's Day. Tricky stuff. I'm thinking somewhere in between Burger King and Applebee's. Any suggestions?

Since you've been interacting with, her for a couple of months; I'd choose Applebee's!1 -
I have a 10 lb bag of fancy Callebaut chocolate, an All Clad fondue pot, a crapload of fruit, cakes, cookies, and marshmallow peep hearts from the grocery, and my daughter's friends are coming over Saturday night for a slumber party. We are going to watch both the Johnny Depp and Gene Wilder takes on Willy Wonka, and eat chocolate till we puke. (In past years I would watch Johnny Depp in Chocolat by myself and eat artisan chocolates but my 10 year old said that was boring).3

What's Applebee's like? You want to go somewhere comfortable for you both where you can relax and enjoy good food with a good atmosphere

I am not a party person but I am being forced to throw a valentine party. It is frikkin hard to plan for parties for me and yet here I am. At the same time, being on a diet does not help as I cannot eat in my own party :-). I am looking for some suggestions on where can I find good valentine party ideas. One of my friends suggested www,paarteez.com. Seems to be good but any other suggestions?-1

Lol. At first date on Valentines day. Skip Burger King, take her to a White Castle/Krystals0 -
2 am flight with a 4 hour layover...10 hours + 4 hour layover= no fun. Plus alone with animals on this flight . I might cry, eat ice cream, have a meltdown, and grab a drink in no particular order. First v day alone in quite some time0

Just remember all of you mfper's.....make sure you guys don't post all your happy happy joy joy valentines day crap that nobody really wants to read about...some of your friends just might want to kick a few kittens or something on that day. Keep that in mind......
This is why I stay off FB on holidays. No joke.
Same. I won't go in FB Tuesday, I dance only see so many bouquets of flowers before I want to punch babies.1 -

Yeah, I won't go through my feed. I may get on to look at some of my favorite meme pages, but that's it. This is my 4th one alone. Last one married I made a nice dinner, cupcakes with pink frosting for his co-workers, red velvet cake balls and strawberries dipped in chocolate for him (I hate strawberries) and he didn't even get me a card.
I am not single, but even though for years, I did the nice dinner, dessert, candles.. Whatever surprises I came up with that year, he has never done anything in return. In 20 years he hasn't even said Happy Valentine's Day, Happy Birthday or Happy Mother's Day let alone get a card, flowers or take me out on those days.. So I quit doing anything for him on any of "his" days a few years ago. At this point, I want to just be single instead of feeling alone all the time even though there is someone here.1 -

I am not single, either. Married 6 years. My husband is not romantic at all, and I think I taught him that was okay because for a long time I told him I didn't want it. I didn't tell him I didn't want it because I didn't feel like I deserved it. Now I don't know how to tell him I'd like it if he gave it a try every now and then.
I'm sorry you're going through this.2 -

Just tell him. It sounds like he does nice things from what you've posted. I'm sure he'd rather know what you really want, then to not know and have you be unhappy.
I should. But I'm "attack it head on" and he's "I hate confrontation" and there might be a fight lol.0
