Is it possible to burn this many calories? Cuz I'm not losing

Hey yall so I just got a Garmin watch and it says I burned 1000 calories as active and 1300 as resting, is that even possible?? I go on the treadmill for about an hour every morning walking 3 miles with 12% incline and that burns 300, but I don't do much the rest of the day only errands and chores so do I really burn 1000 calories throughout the day?

I doubt it, I mean if your not losing. So are you eating 2300 calories? Cause I would walk 3 miles to increase my calories to 2300 but I have to stay in the 1400 range to lose. But then I'm old so...0

That depends on a number of factors, but it is possible to burn a total of 2300 per day, yes. The more important question is how much are you eating?0

Switch off the HR monitoring and see what it comes up with. The HR aspect is likely to be causing the overestimation.1 -
Your other post says that you are 5'9" and 123 lbs. You're already below the normal BMI range so you probably shouldn't be trying to lose anyways.9

What type of Garmin are you using? If it is a wrist HR monitor it is probably somewhat inaccurate. I have played with numerous HR monitors and have found that the chest strap/watch combo is the most accurate. I do very similar treadmill work as you and I am not burning that many calories. My guess is you are burning about half that amount of calories.0

What activity level did you choose in your MFP profile? The various levels represent the calories you normally burn in your regular routine. Additional exercise generate more calories burnt, and that's what we have to add to the chart just as we add the calories consumed from food.
It is the combination of present weight, goal weight, and activity level, that determines how much you should eat, and how much you should exercise in order to lose (or gain) weight.0 -

Wrist vs strap sensing of HR isn't relevant, the point is that HR isn't a good indicator of calorie expenditure at low intensities.0 -
1200 calories I feel is about right for that weight. I am roughly 5'10" 140. Trying to get back to 135, and I shoot for 1200 calories a day.1

1200 calories a day is pretty low for someone who's normal weight trying to lose 5 vanity pounds.2 -

1200 calories a day is pretty low for someone who's normal weight trying to lose 5 vanity pounds.
I know, and your comment is justified. I really love to run and I consider 135 my fighting weight. I have had knee problems in the past and I just feel like this is the weight where I perform the best. I feel like my joints don't give me problems at this weight and I perform the best at this weight.1 -

The OP is underweight and has a BMR of around 1400, so she should be eating even more than that2
