My first weigh in and I have gained weight although I feel so much better. I look less bloated etc. Don't want to feel disappointed and start destroying my efforts. So I would like to know how long it took others to see changes? I'm 2 stone overweight

dont trust scales too much. If you see results and you feel better, weight shouldnt matter that much. Weight can always be influenced by other factors...water weight, hormonal changes, stress..etc.2

I noticed changes immediately, but they were mental. Once I put my mind to it, I was unstoppable. As far as the physical changes, I noticed them over time. I weighed myself every 3-4 weeks and took my measurements too (The scale can lie at times.) Also, I took pictures along the way. Have no fear. If you stay the course, you will see results.2

I felt a lot less bloated in the beginning as well. I think it was from the increase of water intake and I stopped eating until I felt "stuffed" and just satisfied. A few weeks later is when the pounds started to drop.0

For me, I didn't look for results straight away. I think the first couple of weeks are unreliable - you may be making progress but it may take a while to show up on the scale. When I started eating better and exercising, I didn't weigh myself at all for maybe the first 6 weeks or so. I waited until my clothes actually felt a little loose so I was sure I was making progress. When I finally checked the scale, I was down 10 pounds.
Maybe I would have seen changes if I had weighed myself in the first 6 weeks, but in my opinion, weight loss is slow and hard. I knew I was going to have a lot of weeks where I wouldn't see any changes, so having that one nice weigh-in where I was down 10 pounds from what I expected was a great boost that helped me keep going. I think it's easy to give up when you don't see progress, so setting yourself up for positive surprises instead of negative surprises is very helpful in my opinion. If you know you're doing what you need to be doing in terms of eating well and exercising, I wouldn't focus too much on weighing until you know that checking your weight will be an encouragement instead of a disappointment, but that's just me.0 -
It took me 10 days of meticulous logging and staying just under my calorie goal to start losing weight.0

I never see anything immediately that's why I stay off the scale but on going effort yields results0

For the first twenty days when I started I didn't lose a single pound. In fact, my situation was kinda like yours and I think I actually gained three pounds. But after keeping at it, and I've only been on this app for 40 days, I've lost 8 pounds. You don't have to feel disappointed because healthy and sustainable weight loss is slow and takes a long time, but if you keep at you will end up satisfied with your results.0

In the mirror I've never really noticed. When i lost 90lbs back in 2013 It wasn't a sudden shock or anything. I knew I was smaller because I could wear smaller sizes but i didn't see it.. Until i looked at photos. Then i saw a major difference. I also only had small mirrors in my house that showed my shoulders up. So i never really looked at myself in full until I went to Ikea and saw someone wearing the exact same thing as me but they were so much smaller and then i realized it was me looking at my reflection. Spent that whole time walking around Ikea trying to figure out when i had gotten so small. Completely forgot why I was there in the first place.
Keep pictures of yourself No matter how bad you might think you look/looked and take measurements as you lose weight. It's encouraging and it will show you how far you've come, even when the scales don't move or show a gain... your measurements over time will show cms/inches coming off.

I've only been losing for 1.5 months. Twice I didn't lose any weight for a week but I noticed my pants getting more loose from Monday to Monday.
Weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint. Weight loss is also not linear. Sometimes the scales will go up or won't change at all. Stick with it and you'll see results for sure!0 -
It's been a while but I think I saw five pounds lost the first week and probably three the next. It stayed at about two per week for several weeks after that.0
