How long until weight loss starts slowing down?

Hi guys,

I started my weight loss journey 5 weeks ago at ~318lbs. I'm now at 297. I know that at first it is fairly fat and easy for some people as you can loose basically as many lbs in water as you do in fat.

I am not complaining but I am a little worried about when it is going to start slowing. I know it will and I am trying to prepare myself for that.

How long did it take you to start seeing your weight loss stabilize?

Sidenote : my settings are set to lose 1lb/week but I usually eat 500cal less than my calorie goal so it should be more like 2lbs/week.

It really depends on how much you have to lose and how much water you're retaining. For me, my weight loss normalized after 4 weeks. But there were also some weeks I was retaining water (like during ovulation and period) that masked weight loss and then the following week would be losing the retained water plus some fat. That's why weight loss isn't linear. It's more like a bumpy road. It's better to look at the overall trend.
