I am a mom of a 2 1/2 month old and have lately been feeling down about the postpartum bod. I have been doing my best to eat healthy and fit in yoga or cardio into my schedule but being new to the mom life it's been a little difficult to find motivation to any exercise. Help! Lol

Find exercise you enjoy doing, and it's less difficult to get motivated to do it. There's a lot of fun workout videos on YouTube. Getting a Fitbit made a huge difference in working out more, since I like being higher on the step ranking against my family/friends. Make sure you stay on top of your calorie intake though, since you can't spot reduce you have to keep losing the weight until your body lets go of the pooch there. (For me it's the last thing to go unfortunately after I have my babies)

    First off, congrats!
Second, it takes time to get back to normal after having a baby.. I was pretty much exhausted for the first months, it was a blur and any workout I got in was a win for me. Sounds like you are doing everything right, it will just take time. Fit in workouts, go for walks with baby, track here on MFP, meal prep healthy snacks, etc. If you are nursing be sure to fuel adequately for your milk supply.
It took me about 7 months to lose the baby weight.. a mix between nursing (putting me into a cal deficit) plus weight training helped me get my body back where I was pretty happy with it.

Congratulations on your new baby! Hun, it's important you don't get yourself down about post baby bod. If your body could talk it would tell you what it went through and how tired it is! Myself, I didn't work out for about 3 months after I had my daughter. Between nursing and keeping the house clean and trying to take care of myself (she's asleep! Do I sleep, eat or shower?! Sleep won most of the time.) There was no way for me to eat enough for working out and the calorie deficit nursing creates. When she stopped eating so frequently and I was sleeping better I felt comfortable getting back into my fitness routine. I lost my baby weight about 6 months out. It does take time. Did I feel great about myself? No, but I was too tired to really care. You'll get there. Forcing yourself will just make it harder. Listen to your body, it'll tell you when it's ready to get back on the workout wagon. In the meantime realize the amazing thing your body just did and you wear that "kangaroo pouch" proudly!

I know after I delivered my daughter, my pooch shrunk back to normal in about 3 months, and by 6 months looked even better than before, but I didn't have a newborn to take care of so when I had my son I was shocked that it didn't magically disappear. He also didn't sleep longer than 2-3 hour stretches until we did CIO at 10 months, so I was always running on zero, and felt headachey and groggy after napping. Anyway that's my excuse as to why I am 18m pp still with a stomach that looks like a white garbage bag full of lumpy oatmeal that's recently been attacked by freddie kruger :)

My advice is to go for walks if it's nice out, and maybe do floor stretches and yoga while baby does tummy time, so you can be face to face. Let daddy do bathtime while you do something low-impact and gentle. Motivation is hard to come by, but once you see a little shrinking, that will help you keep going.
