Hi everyone

I have a question about my TDEE. I put it in two different web sites and got two very different numbers. One said 2370 and one said 2090.

I am a women who weighs 210 pounds. I'm 5 feet 9 inches. 42 years old. I do body pump 3 times a week, a 40 minute Insanity dvd, a 50 minute tabata cardio dvd (Breathless Body by Amy Dixon). I also walk our dog most days.

Which one looks better for me?

Thanks so much!

Impossible to say. Any and all of these calculators use various algorithms and population statistics to come up with some kind of reasonable estimate. Nobody has a TDEE of exactly XXXX calories. These calculators provide for a reasonably good starting point and not much more than that...beyond that, it's about tracking your actual results compared to expected results and tweaking things as necessary.

I'd say just go with one...be consistent...be as accurate as you can be...make adjustments as necessary.

mytdee.com gave me this (I used 150lbs as your goal weight) and selected lightly active (1-3 workouts per week)

    TDEE - 2321
for easy weight loss (10%) - goal of 2089cal per day/2+ year to reach goal weight
for recommended (20%) - 1857cal per day/goal weight may next year
for aggressive (30%) - 1625cal per day/goal weight by December this year

    This.

However, I would lean toward the higher number being closer to your TDEE than the lower number.

Just TDEE Please spreadsheet - better than rough 5 level TDEE charts.

I wouldn't call those very different numbers - there's like a small piece of chocolate difference between the two. Pick one and try it or split the difference and use a number i the middle. It's all an estimate anyway. You try a number and adjust as needed.

You can't change the numbers though.

OP, I'd put you between lightly and moderately active. I use scooby personally and it's always been pretty close.

Scooby has been the closest to my calculations/measurements of TDEE.

If you know how many calories you were eating on a typical day prior to trying to lose weight, your average TDEE is going to be pretty close to that, but probably a few calories less. TDEE calculators are helpful if you don't have that information, but knowing what you were eating will give you a more accurate figure.

    Sure you can.

Obviously not the master copy, or you putting in your numbers would change anyone else using it - them changing it back would change yours.

You can't share a master spreadsheet.

Hence the instructions in red to make a copy into your own Google drive account.
