MFP allowed calories are different each day

I can't find my previous thread, but a few weeks ago, I adjusted my rate of loss from 2lbs per week to 1lb per week since I'm down to my last 40lbs and have consistently lost 2+ lbs per week at 1250 calories.
When I updated my data, It looked like MFP gave me 1430. Awesome. But some days it has me at 1300.
Why would that be and how do I get it leveled out so that I have the same amount of calories each day? Of course, I know I can EAT the same amount of calories each day, but my exercise isn't consistent, and I don't like going into the red.

Is the day you have 1430 including exercise?1

Coming from the Keep It Simple Silly philosophy of life:
Are you logging your exercise some days and not others?
Do you have a fitness tracker that is linked to your account?
Did MFP prompt you to update your goals soon after you made the 2/wk to 1/wk?
Those are the only 3 things that I can think of that would cause your calorie recommendations to fluctuate.0 -
Some days I have 1430 and some days I have 1300 before I have logged everything. My settings are listed as sedentary, but 30 minutes of moderate exercise 7 days a week (I walk my dog).
I do not have a tracker linked to my account. I log at least some exercise every day (because I walk my dog). In both instances, my calories are adjusted UP as soon as I input exercise.
MFP never prompted me to update my goals, I did it on my own.

When you log your exercise your calories increase to account for that otherwise unaccounted for activity...it is the way this tool is designed.0 -

But what I am saying is some days I have 1300 and some days I have 1430 when I wake up and before I have logged anything (food or exercise). I expect my calories to go up once I input my exercise, but not before I have even done anything for the day.
Are you saying MFP is rolling over my unused exercise calories?

I looked at your diary. Your are right something looks off.
Tomorrow 1430
Friday 1300
Saturday 1300
Sunday 1430
All days in the future where nothing is logged.
Do you have the premium membership?0 -
Do you have premium and have it set up for different amounts on different dates? I looked at your future dates and you have it lower on 2 days and then the higher goal on the 3rd. I think that's something that's available in the premium version but otherwise it should be the same each day.1

You didn't, by chance, sign up for Premium before, then cancel?2

I see we all came to the same conclusion.
You'll have to check with the tech guys. Maybe post in the technical help forum. Something is wrong.1 -

I just did. Even the tech forums had an example, but all had to do with Premium or the negative calorie setting, which I don't have.0 -
I did find the issue in the tech forums finally. Another user @notafatguy was having the same problem (sorry to call you out, but I feel better now that I'm not the only one). I was super jazzed to get 1430 calories after 6 months at 1250, so you bet your shiney hiney I want every last calorie.5

It will not allow you to manually change each day to 1430? It seems like it has a lock on those 1300 calorie days. That's weird.0 -

So was his (and now your) issue resolved? If so, what was it?0 -

The MFP tech people had to fix it. His was fixed, then it wasn't, now seems fixed again.
Mine is not yet fixed.0 -

Cannot manually change it. It's bizarre.0 -
Interesting. After the more common issues that people covered here, I imagine with a database the size of MFP there are bound to be those glitches.1
-
That is a very odd glitch. Have you tried changing your goal to maintenance and then changing it back? Maybe if you force it to recalculate everything it will get over itself.1

I'm going to stop doodling with it to see when/if tech support does something. If I don't hear anything soon, that's a good idea to try.0 -
@fitoverfortymom I think you're a special MFP snowflake4

This is a custom setting on premium. I used this to set up calories cycling. You can delete Tues and fri so you get the same daily calories.
ETA saw you can't edit. That is weird I can edit mine.0 -

Yeah, I do think have Premium or else I would.
I have premium and I had different calorie goals for each day of the week. I just changed mine to a set daily amount but mine is not locked. I changed mine on the desktop.0 -

I made a typo. I don't have Premium, so I have no access to manually change that area.1 -
Hi. I had the same issue. I couldn't change it manually since it is a premium feature. I just fiddled with the guided set up for a while and the problem fixed itself.0

I love that phrase!! LOL!
I don't have an answer to your question, though. Just interested in the answers.0
