Does drinking more water combat water retention from excess sodium?

I've always been a big water drinker. I drink around 2-3 liters a day but I've noticed that when I have a lot of sodium/carbs in my diet that I hold on to water weight. If I cut carbs and sodium out Im automatically am a pound or two lighter. I love carbs and it's difficult to reduce sodium. Does drinking more water have any impact at all on water retention? Does it flush away the excess sodium?

Sodium will cause water retention and n=1 but I've found that drinking water and increasing potassium tended to reduce water weight.
On the subject of carbohydrates (carbon-hydrate) or equal carbon molecules to water molecules. So when you cut carbs, you'll lose water weight.
"The name carbohydrate means "watered carbon" or carbon with attached water molecules. Many carbohydrates have empirical formuli which would imply about equal numbers of carbon and water molecules. For example, the glucose formula C6H12O6 suggests six carbon atoms and six water molecules."
Hope that helps!5 -
If I eat tortilla chips before bed, I guarantee I'll be up 1lb in water weight the next day, UNLESS I drink a crapton of water before bed too (and get up twice to pee lol). That's just my experience though.1
