Hi there,
My name is Amy and I have recently had a baby. I gained almost 70lbs from before I was pregnant. I have always been very up and down with my weight and struggling with depression in different times of my life. I have recently been put on some medication to try and balance out my moods. I am hoping to start working out and getting back in shape again. Im not a lazy person I'm always on the go and I eat healthy and I only drink water and green tea. For some reason I have always carried weight around my tummy and it seems to take me a lot to build the least amount of muscle.
Does anyone have any suggestions of where I should start?

pick a goal - its not easy to gain muscle and lose weight at the same time1

What are you doing to build muscle? You need a progressive lifting program and enough calories.2

You didn't say what your goal is, but i'm going to assume it's to reduce your fat, not to bulk up and get larger muscles, yes? If so, follow the usual fat loss advice of eating fewer calories than you burn. That will reveal the muscles you currently have. Adding strength training is nice, and keeping carbs low might help too, but a calorie deficit should be your primary focus. Weigh all food on a digital scale - even foods you think are "healthy". For more tips, read the sticky posts in this forum and the "Getting Started" forum.
By the way, if you're breastfeeding, keep your calorie deficit small.1 -
Read through these threads. They should give you some great ideas on how to start!

I'm also breastfeeding. Add me, it's not easy to be postpartum and losing baby weight and then some.
Bf makes you hungry/ravenous. I know protein and fiber help me. Stay away from sugars. Last couple days I've been out of control with vday candy..0
