Question About my New Fitbit?

Hi There,
So I just bought a Fitbit yesterday and synced it up to MyFitnessPal. Today was the first day of using it. It is the end of the day and it says that I have burned 1750 calories.
I don't really understand this. My BMR is 1330, and I was on my feet for 8 hours today. I am also a generally fidgety person. I move around a lot.
Is the 1750 calories the amount that I burned today? Does it seem a little low or accurate?
Thanks for your help!

That does seem low. Check out the Fitbit group, all kinds of knowledgeable people over there.0

I also got something of a shock when I got my Fitbit. I was burning way fewer calories than I thought I was. I got used to it after a bit.
Don't forget that your Fitbit doesn't know how many calories you've used in a day until it gets to midnight. Check it first thing tomorrow and it will tell you you've used about 600 calories (depending on what time you get up). The number will steadily increase during the day, how much depends on how active you are. It would increase at a slower rate if you were ill and lay in bed all day, but would still go up.
What I find disconcerting is pressing the "Complete" button on the food diary with about 50 calories in hand, then coming back onto MFP later in the evening and finding that I'm now in the red by a small amount as I was less active during the evening. That sucks!!0
