I'm looking into opinions on Dietbet.com as a kickstart to my diet. I lost about 80 lbs 2 years ago and have managed to keep 65 of those 80 lbs off, but I'm really struggling to get the last 15 lbs off. I don't have the mental willpower it seems anymore, and I'm wondering if this slight push might help push me over the edge to stay on track. Have you done a dietbet? What were your experiences, pros and cons?

If you do, do the; 6 month challenge! The other's unrealistically aggressive!1

I did one last year after Christmas. It stressed me out and made me realize I don't like putting deadlines on my goals. I did end up winning the bet but it wasn't much fun and I really didn't end up winning enough money to make it worth all the stress it caused me.0

Have you completed a 6 month one? I am afraid over 6 months I'd lose the motivation in the long run. But calculating 4% of my weight, that's ALOT to lose in 4 weeks!0 -

I was considering it when I, began going through; premature menopause & thus I've no reliable trend to, gauge that level of; constant necessary success anymore! The 6 months grants you more time to, rid yourself of; less percentage & thus provides some wiggle room for, any potential inconsistency along; the journey!0 -

I tried one once but you have to lose such a large amount of weight in such a short amount of time I just couldn't do it. I lose very slowly.0

I've just signed up for a 10% in six months February Challenge that starts tomorrow. Hoping it will keep me on track this year with an added bonus that if I can win I get cash to spend on a new wardrobe

I did the six month challenge and for the first four months while I was motivated and losing water weight it was great. The last few months were just a pain because I lost my motivation but I didn't want to lose my money. So I would barely scrape by each weigh it. (One time I spent twenty minutes finding the lightest possible outfit and I removed the case from my phone because every gram counted.)
If you're motivated already it's a great way for extra cash. If you tend to lose steam then I doubt it will have a lasting impact. That's my take.1
