Coffee calories

Ok I know plain black coffee has no calories...the bar code on the boxes support that when scanned. So why does MFP claim the coffee I use has 2 calories per cup? It's plain, and it's black.

Coffee beans contains a small amount of fat and does have calories.
They can state zero calorie if it is under 5 calories.1 -
Nothing has truly zero calories except plain water. As stated above, legalities allow manufacturers to list a serving as having no calories if it's under 5. You'll see this with diet soda and, the one you really have to watch as they make the serving size impossible, cooking spray.1

As has been said above, nutrition info can be rounded and minimal calories can show as 0 on labels. If you are in the US, the FDA rounding rules apply:
