Is this possible?

So 1 year ago I made a small change. I decided not to take sugar in my coffee anymore. As the months went by I stopped putting it on cereal / porridge. Now one year later I don't really have much of a sweet tooth and do not add sugar to anything now. I had a small slice of homemade cake that a colleague brought in today ...... now 1-2 years ago I would have ate it all and had another slice! But you know it felt so rich and sweet I felt sick! Lol.
Is it possible for the body to react this way? I seem to not be able to tolerate sweet things that once upon a time ago I pretty indulged in every single day

Definitely possible. When I was eating low carb, even carrots tasted sugary sweet to me.

Have you ever heard of training your palate? That's what happened. You cut down on sugar so that you weren't used to it anymore. If you started eating more sugar on a regular basis, you would eventually acclimate to the higher amount again.

Basically your question is asking Is it possible for my tastes to change over time.

    Of course it is.

eg People who move to another country get used to eating different food.

Myself - I stopped drinking regular coke - if I have one now it tastes thick and syrupy.
Likewise full cream milk tastes thick and slimy.

Nothing wrong with either of those products - or in your case sugar - in themselves (in moderation ,as part of balanced diet etc) but just got used to the alternatives.
