Binge eating is kinda like an orgasm, if you aren't sure that you had one, then you didn't.0

That may be one of the best analogies ever.0 -
To hell with the calories you consumed. Focus in on the good stuff your body ingested instead of the bad stuff. If you eat a ton of veggies and fruits, they come with more than just calories. Look at the bigger picture. I with there was a better way to reflect the positives of what we eat so we don't concentrate on the negatives.0

LOL BEST response yet!! :flowerforyou:0 -
It's not about the number of calories or the type of food, it's about the state of mind you're in when you eat them. If you didn't feel out of control and unable to stop eating despite feeling really bad, it was not a binge.0

what Dyson said. 500 calories over is hardly a number to worry about being over on one day as well. If you're really craving something that isn't an empty food a lot of the time it's our bodies way of telling us we need a nutrient. one of the classic stories I know illustrating this is the pregnant woman who needs iron suddenly craving raw liver even know that's normally something that would make them vomit.
on a less shocking scale I know I've had nutrient related cravings before.
So I am gonna go with if you overate by 500 calories in veggies and fruits you probably needed it.0 -

I think it matters your state of mind when eating and how you feel after. Where you eating in a desperate way to fill the void? Did you eat until you were so full it hurt?
I think it is entirely possible to binge on health food.0 -

Yes, it does. It doesn't matter how many calories more so why you felt the need to consume that many fruits and vegetables as there is a point where we stop being hungry. I know because I had to eat 3 full bowls of green beans once just to hit 350 calories of them. And I am assuming that many veggies and fruit your stomach probably hurts right now. Healthy or not a binge is a binge. Feel free to add me as a friend. I am dealing with this and we can support each other.0 -

stop being a slob
First, overeating is not the same as binging.
Second, going over by 500 calories probably didn't even eat up the OP's deficit. That's hardly being a slob.0 -
As others said, it depends on why you ate that much. It has nothing to do with calories and everything to do with psychology.
If you simply ate a lot of fruit and veggies today because you were hungry and that's what you felt like eating, that's not a binge. If you ate and ate until you were full and still ate a bit more because you were bored/upset, that's a binge.
A binge doesn't have to be cookies and chips. It can be any kind of food.0
