Five pounds in either direction1

I have (arbitrarily) set mine to 3 kilos - 55-58 - around 6 pounds.2

I don't really fluctuate much unless I overeat and splurge (even during weight loss i only fluctuated .5 to 1lb up and down) I just give myself a 2-3 lbs range. I know it's small but I know my body well enough that I don't fluctuate much daily anyway.4

Mine is between 200 and 210, so roughly 5% of my weight.0

My maintenance fluctuations tend to be 2-3 Lbs up or down on average. They can be more if I go out to eat or something and take in more sodium than usual...also, I tend to put on 5+ lbs of bloat when I fly.1

I recently entered maintenance and I've set a "do not exceed" weight. So far, my daily weigh-ins have me anywhere from 2-4 lbs under that number.7

125 - 128 lbs0

I'm post- menopausal so no longer have as big a fluctuation as those who are still menstruating and find 5lbs is a good range.
I rarely count calories or weigh myself but have quite a constant weight judged by visual cues and clothing fit.
I too put on excess water weight when flying or in hot climates. I discount it knowing what it is and that it will be gone within a week.
Cheers, h.3 -
I'm only 5'0" tall so I keep a small
Weight range of 2lbs. I agree with extra salt or flight bloat so I know my weight will go higher from those. I have a "scream weight" that I don't allow myself to go over ever. If I do, I eat at a deficit even if I know it's probably salt.5 -
I guess +/- 5 pounds. My hard cap is 140#.0

Two lbs in either direction.0

10 pounds. I'm tall so I have more room to play with.
I haven't had any trouble reaching near my high number, but it's very easy for me to get close to my low number especially in the summer, so I need to watch that.3 -
Plus or minus 3, which is wider than typical daily fluctuations for me. (But I'm a bit above the top limit right now, gotta admit ).1

My range is 128 +/- 2.0

As long as I'm within my normal BMI range, I'm reasonably happy.
However, I'm happier if I'm in the lower half of my BMI range.0 -
5 lb. When I get to the top I start eating at a deficit. I haven't actually made it to the bottom of that range yet.3

5-8lbs depending on activity, sleep, food choices.0

2 kg in each direction.0

Theoretically 3 lbs. I might need to loosen that up a tad.0

10lbs1

Maintenance range it's a tough one for me I'd say within 5 pounds. I'm not really focused on the scale that much more versus how my clothes feel especially my pants. I have access to scales at work and I've weighed myself sometimes during the day to see how my way changes and what I found is that my weight can fluctuate sometimes 2 to 5 pounds in a day depending on what I've eaten. I saw the look at it as a long-term process I've had weeks where my weight has fluctuated for five pounds over a couple days but yet overtime it's still around my goal number which is about 208 pounds0

I'm fascinated by the people with the really small ranges.
I can vary +/- 2 kg (4.4 lbs) in the course of a day or two depending on my exercise level, the food I've eaten, the weather, the travelling I've done, and my TOM.7 -

It's not just about the range, I think, but also how you treat it, and the context it fits in. My range is smaller (plus or minus 3), but I'm still logging, so I pretty much know what happened when I go over the top end. And I don't consider it a problem if I bounce over the top end for a day or two, as long as it's a transitory thing. Creeping up and going over and staying over - bad sign.7 -
+/- 4lbs is my range, normal fluctations are 0.5 to 1.5lbs in any one day.0

Mine floats between 203 and 208 lbs most of the time and that is with me weighing under consistent conditions.0 -
I picked my range based on my natural fluctuations. My weight tends to fluctuate by around 2 pounds so I picked 128 +/- 2. I don't think my weight has ever been up more than 2 or 2.5 pounds in one day.1
