Hello to everyone

I am completely new to MyFitnesspal and finally decided to give it a go. Seems like a great community so far.
I'm looking for any advice on Macros, specifically going at it on a plant based diet.. Anyone ever tried this successfully? I was in pretty good standing with my body but with some changes here and there I saw the weight coming back and now i'm looking to do this again strongly and would love any advice. I appreciate your replies! Thank you

You can get fat on any diet. If you want to lose weight, you have to eat less. MFP is great for tracking calories.

Are you experienced with that type of diet?

As a vegan who lost over 40 pounds using this website this is my best advice: Track what you're eating for a couple of weeks to get an idea of what you're hitting now. If you're like most people, you have already stumbled on a macro distribution that makes you feel happy and satisfied. Once you have an idea what your general trend is, you can make any changes you might like to make -- for those of us not eating animal products, a common change is that we may notice we want more protein.

Macros matter a lot, IMO, for feelings of satiety and they can also be important for specific fitness goals (and, of course, we need a certain amount of fat and protein just to survive). But weight loss is going to come down to calories.
