I usually eat 1000-1200cal a day. I ate 1700cal today !! I only need to lose 10 more pounds. Is this going to hurt me ? Was this a binge ?

Binging is less about the calories you ate and more about the way you ate it and the motivation behind it. I can easily eat a tasty, comfortable dinner which will put me over calories, and of course it isn't a binge - it's dinner. Eating a whole loaf of bread while hating myself for it is a binge.
1700 calories is unlikely to even put you over maintenance.5 -
A binge is more about mentality than how much you went over. Since you only have 10 pounds to lose it may be time to lower your goal to lose half a pound per week, especially if you start over eating once or more per week. 1000 calories is unnecessarily low.5

1000 too calories is too low, regardless of anything else. However, a one-off 'binge' is fine. I did loads of exercise today, but having just been out for a 3 course meal and having drunk a few glasses of wine, I am way over my calories for today - but I don't care. Life is for living and it's not something I do every day. I may weigh more tomorrow, but balanced out over a week it'll be fine.1
