I have been trying to lose weight for a year and even though I've gained muscle, the inches and fat won't budge. I have adjusted macros several times and tried increasing calories to boost my metabolism, nothing. I went to the doctor who thinks I may have a carb intolerance and referred me to a nutritionist. She mentioned trying ketosis and eating 50 grams of carbs a day, to see how my body reacts. I'm a natural short (5'1) pear shape but have had digestive issues for as long as I can remember. Anyone had success with ketosis when nothing else worked or had carb intolerance and ketosis was the answer?

If you're not losing weight, eating more won't help?

Won't hurt you to atleast try it.
I live keto wise and I believe in the nutritional benefits.
Check out Dr Tim Noakes and his recommendations.

Carb intolerance or no, increasing calories won't help your metabolism unless you've adapted to a literal starvation diet, in which case you most definitely would have list weight before you got to that point

Many keto'ers on MFP but most post in the Low Carber Daily subgroup.

I have IR, carb intolerance, and ketosis worked really well for me.

I'm not sure why your nutritionist wants you to eat more than the level you are at - not losing/maintenance. To lose on a ketogenic diet, you CI must still be less than CO. CI<CO. Some find the ketogenic diet boosts CO, or lowers their appetite and CI. Or both. You still need that caloric deficit though.

When I was losing my 40lbs (5'8") i ate about 1500 kcal per day. I lost about 2-3 lbs per week. If I eat 2000 kcals I mostly maintain. Over 2500 I start regaining.

Even in ketosis you have to be in calorie deficit.
