A week off plan

So I just weighed myself after a week of eating anything and everything - multiple meals out, desserts after every meal, chocolate to end every night and 4 slices of bread, cereal and lattes to start every morning. Lo and behold I gained almost a stone. I'm not angry nor do I hate myself, but I am craving eating healthy and am happy to start eating well again.

How much of this do you think is water weight/will I drop in the first week?

For reference I'm 5ft 5 was 9st 12lb before am now 10st 11.2lb.

Hard to say ... you'll know in a week.

Right, let's do some very quick, very dirty numbers:

If I did that, the max I would probably eat would be about 4000 calories a day. At your weight I'm guessing your maintenance is around 1600 net, so that would be 2400 over maintenance each day assuming you did no exercise. Over 7 days that's 16800 over maintenance, or just shy of 5lb of fat gained.

If you have a bigger appetite than me, you could have eaten more than 4k each day and gained a bit more. On the other hand, if you were not completely sedentary, or if your maintenance is higher than I'm allowing for, you may have gained a bit less.

In general I think you would be unlikely to gain more than about 7lb of fat over that timescale, but then nearly 7lb of water seems like a lot. Who knows. What with glycogen, gut contents etc I suppose it's possible. You'll have to just weigh again after a week or so of eating less and see how much of the weight stays on.
