Ex runner that went off the rails, please help!

Hello everyone, This time last year I was in the best shape of my life and was a month away from completing my first 40 mile Ultra marathon. New jobs/Stress/Depression/the holiday period and a lot of other things have seen me in a bit of a downward spiral to the extent that I've now gained nearly 40lbs in 6 months! I am struggling to get the motivation to exercise and comfort eat a lot. I have tried and failed several times in the last few weeks alone which doesn't help my motivation. As a (former) runner I used to take my health seriously so I was once quite knowledgeable about diet and exercise but the things I am really lacking in are motivation and willpower so if anyone out there wants accountability buddies to keep each other on the right track then let me know!
