I've been working out and eating within my calorie goal, and I've lost like 9 lbs, I weigh myself Friday and I was 159.6 I get on the scale today and it's 162.3 is this normal for it to fluctuate like that ? Or did I truly gain that weight ?

It's normal. If it makes you feel better, look at my weight loss graph. The spikes are every week or so after a particularly salty and/or carby meal. It's just water retention.

Totally normal, my graph is very similar to the above. This week (I weigh daily) I have been the same weight every day but I know my deficit is what it should be. The scale will move in its own sweet time.1

Yes, it's totally normal. If you ate something really salty you can experience this but also around ovulation and your period it can happen too. I gain like 5 pounds, sometimes a bit more, of water weight at these times. So annoying but don't be discouraged. Whether it's salt or biology, it will go soon.0

Thanks for the replies, it is definitely discouraging, I was thinking maybe I'm not doing as well with calories as I thought, but I know I am, because I weigh and measure everything, so guess I'll just continue working out and eating within my calorie goal and hope it leaves soon. Thanks again!!2
